ArtGeo Gallery is housed in an elegant neo-classical brick and tile pavilion built for the Agricultural Bank of Western Australia in 1931.
Now owned and managed by the City of Busselton, the former bank was used by the State Forestry Department until 1956. The building lay empty until 2005 when the (then) Shire of Busselton decided it would make an attractive art gallery.
ArtGeo Gallery opened in September 2008 with the launch of Signatures South West. Now known as the City of Busselton Art Award, this annual exhibition of contemporary Western Australian art attracts artists from across the State contending for an acquisitive first prize of $10,000 and a solo exhibition in ArtGeo Gallery
ArtGeo Gallery is an adaptable white-cube space that’s used for exhibitions sourced regionally, nationally and occasionally internationally.
ArtGeo is a member of GalleriesWest – an independent advocacy body dedicated to strengthening the public galleries sector in Western Australian.
